I don’t think he is dealing with a corn cob, if it’s 12v it’s probably a mini can or a g4 lamp

Well, I'll leave it to the experts, good luck OP.

Ok Ok QuietTiger, I set myself up for the COB jokes but that's honestly what's on the package said light came in..

Hey Man, I wasn't being a dick. They refer to replacement LEDs for certain applications as corn cob.
Good luck with your issue.

[ETA- if the light cord has a "regular" two-prong power cord, from the manufacturer, it is safe.]
Just now seeing your post.. It has 2 copper wires the same size, from the manufacturer..

No problem QT.. I debated whether or not to add "ha" somewhere in my reply but decided not to.. Wasn't meaning any disrespect at all brother.. Thanks!

Yeah, that's why I asked originally about the attached cord. Like the other poster alluded to, they sell them with a built in step down transformer sometimes.
It's all good Man, happy holidays.

Would the stepdown transformer you mention be noticeable?

Post a picture of the bulb or a link

Don't know your set up, but probably and the connections near the light would need to be weatherized. Plenty of set ups out there, look into them and come back with questions.

Black plastic box that plugs into wall... every power adapter you have ever seen is a transformer. If your light only came with two copper leads, then no, you can't plug that into house power.

You would need something like this that will convert the standard home wall outlet(120 volts AC) to the 12 volt DC needed by the led bulb.
Amazon led transformer

What would happen if I were to plug a 3W COB, DC12V, LED patio light into an outdoor extension cord that's plugged into a 110V ext wall outlet? If this isn't safe, please advise otherwise with a better alternative.. Thanks!
Or buy a low voltage outdoor system off Amazon for 80 bucks.
Low Voltage transformer
