What do you want them to say? You call and tell them the first items you want. You want them to just say nothing and assume you have more to order.. Or say "okay, it will be ready in 20mins" then you would have to say "wait. I have to order other stuff".
If you can come up with a more efficient way for people to take orders then let the places you order from, know about it, if this bothers you so much.

They are trying to fix their image of being unhealthy. Fast food workers are no longer able to ask you if you would like to super size for an extra 75 cents or “you want fries with that?”
