There's been a bit of a niche market for Grand Wagoneers for at least 10 years now. Friend of mine bought a partially restored one about 10 years ago and finished restoring it and made a pretty nice profit when he sold it.

They also had horrible transmissions in them, like a lot of 80's American cars. I tried to buy one when I was 17 but my dad talked me out of it because of their reputation for terrible transmissions.

Chevy SUV 's ranked dead last in quality back then.
