Been studying up on Permaculture because my BIG squeeze wants to try and become more "self reliant". In the course of my studies I came across something called "Driftwood".

After researching I found out two things:

First is that driftwood is a type of wood washed ashore and has been weathered by a lake, Ocean, River. It looks very different from its original look after weathering and drying.

Secondly, and more important to the OT, "Driftwood" is also a slang term meant:

quote:

Noun: An erection that is wasted or not put to use; Wood that never finds its port and is thus worn away/beaten and eventually gives up.
When Rhiana, the neighbor, asked if I wanted to "watch a movie" I thought for sure we'd get down. To my chagrin, we literally watched a movie while my driftwood bobbed in vain on a hopeless, lonely, sea.

Why is it that I doubt anyone who would use the term "we'd get down", or driftwood would ever say "To my chagrin" or "in vain on a hopeless, lonely, sea."......
