We have a dog that does this regularly in the spring with allergies. We go to the vet and get him a shot of “Cytopoint”.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I ended up giving him 1/2 of a benedry tablet; My man struggled for a few hours after, kicking like he was trying to get something off his foot, most times while he was snoring, but it finally subsided around 530 and he's crashed out now peacefully.

I looked his foot over pretty good, no redness, no inflammation, no frito smell...weird deal, would have sworn it was an ant bite or similiar but nothing to be seen. I'll prob follow up with the vet today via phone or take him in if he has a relapse.

Appreciate all the help, another coffee on tap for me.

Could have injured a nail by getting it caught on something
May be internal and hard to see. To the vet!

Something is just making him itchy. Either a fungus, allergies, or yeast.

I once had a Doberman that was chewing on his back leg like he was trying to chew it off. I thought the dog has something wrong with his brain.

Took it to vet and it was aa simple as an ointment for fungus and a cone. The ailment a short time later and he was back to himself.
