I have the grandfathered att unlimited plan. I still haven't gotten the new iPhone cause I haven't figured out what the best way to go about it AND keep my unlimited plan

I feel like I will need to make a spreadsheet presentation with pros and cons before I reach a decision

If you're the type of person that uses a phone for more than two years it'll be cheaper monthly once the phone is paid off. If you're always upgrading at a year or two (depending on what plan you choose) then it will probably be the same. Also the AT&T and Verizon plans are expensive for a single line. It gets cheaper per line if you have a family on a data sharing plan.

I had a friend who went through insane hoops to keep her unlimited data. On a hunch, I checked out how much data she used per month, less than 4 gigs on average.

My monthly average is 6.9 gb

I'll easily use around 10-12gb when I travel though

So it's worth it for me to keep it. The cheapest att data plan is 5gb.....the next one up is now 10 or 15 gb and they are more expensive than me keeping current unlimited plan and getting phone another way besides NEXT.

I think I'm just gonna do the apple upgrade plan

We currently have an 18GB plan on Verizon for 100 dollars

Line access is 20 per line, plus the phone payment for each line

It comes out to about 185 per month for 2 iPhones after discounts
