Yep we have a big family lunch/dinner thing on New Years Day. Super casual with people coming and going all day.

Got together with some of my wife's family today. I didn't mind at all. Ate great food, watched good football, and overall a great time hanging out.
I consider my in-laws just as much as my family then I do for the family I was born in.

I cook for my extended family every year on New Years Day. I had 26 people today. I love doing that every year.
Cheese And Meats Plate
Deviled eggs
Pheasant Poppers
Prime Rib
Mashed Potatoes
Squash Casserole
Sweet Potato casserole
Green Beans
Macoroni & Cheese
Rolls
I made all of the casseroles yesterday and just had to cook the meat this morning and made the mashed potatoes around 11am. Football on TV all day as usual. Great time.

My father in law is cool and all he wants to do is grill and watch bowl games. So I never complain about going over there.

The only times I can remember doing anything with family on New Year's Day were the years my grandparents would come for Christmas and stay through the New Year.
