Nor can I. Guess we had it inside of us since childhood. Really enjoy your posts 777!

I live directly across the road from a small airport. My front porch faces the e/W approach. I love it.

I've been up a hand few of times on small aircraft. Super fun.

yep, there was a time that I tried to be discrete about it so as not to set off a nerd alarm but I don't even flinch anymore, I just start looking

So awesome.
My airline just recently allowed our Jeppensen chart app and our weather app to be able to get live weather downloads from our WiFi, so I can use those also now. But those apps don’t show other aircraft like FlightAware does, so I’ll likely continue using it.

Last night I was at the Waveland Walmart and heard a jet airliner that was heading to MSY for a landing that took off from BWI.
It is pretty cool to be able to pull up that information online. I was following my flight one time while I was flying because we had to take a round about way to fly below the storms over the gulf and into Texas.
I took a nice night time photo of San Antonio from about 25,000 feet.

I dazzle my friends when we're out on the boat watching them come in and there'll be a 777 or 787 coming in and I'll say yeah, that's the boys coming in from... wherever, and somebody will pull it up and go, "how the hell did you know that?"

I check it often. Last week I saw contrails miles up and HAD to see the flight details. An unusual north to south path directly overhead for our area.
It was British Airways from London Heathrow to Mexico City.

I saw Lufthansa 747 go over my area on Flightradar24 last weekend. It didn’t inform that it was a cargo hauler.
I thought 747 commercial jets were all cargo now.
Every once in a whiles something flys over that is low enough too see 4 trails.

Are there apps to listen to them?!??
LiveATC.net
Not necessarily the ones flying over you but you can access comms from many of the busy airspaces in the country and around the world
ETA: Also, check out VASAviation YouTube channel. Videos have comms from many aviation incidents/accidents and the guy animates the aircraft so you have situational awareness.

No, but an app I like to check out on a regular basis, for some reason is downdetector. It shows what companies or currently receiving the highest volume of customer service calls. And if you click on the company thats on the list it gives a heat map to show what areas throughout the country.. and world that are receiving the highest volume.
So lets say you are having problems with AT&T, if there is an issue around your area and lots of people are calling customer service you can see that something is going on and it appears others in your area is having issues as well.
A few weeks ago evidently OnlyFans was having some issues and it wasn't in just one region, it was through the whole US. I bet the second it takes an OF page to download a little slower than usual, those dudes are calling CS..
