pretty sure the driver gets the larger percentage
This is what drivers have told me.

It is exactly what I said in my previous post.
I was asking the driver how much they get and how they get paid, etc.
It would be an easy thing to do to get some extra $ but I don't have a 4 door car.

One of the main ideas of Uber is to be a cashless experience for the consumer.

I dont.
Its built in. I think they also don't want their drivers having cash on them.

It's the opposite, the driver gets 20% or so.
My Uber driver told me it's an 80/20 split with the driver taking home the larger portion.
Also, 5.0 rider rating

I have a legit job, so dont rely on Uber but have done it a few big weekends in Columbia to make a little play money.
After a big football weekend (we didn't have many this year), I made $100-$200 in a few hours. It sucks though, because I miss sleep.
Basically trading sleep for cash.
The last time, I set my alarm and went out at 1:30 am to hit the bars closing.
I've been tipped 4-5 times, in ~40 trips

I don't or didn't but in NOLA all weekend they were asking for tips. Or would make comments about anything extra can help their families.

I'm surprised I'm at a 4.9 with 100+ trips.
lol @ all of you idiots being proud of yourselves for being adept at sitting in a fricking chair while a dude drives you around the city.

The only time I have used Uber has been when I go out of town on multiple week business trips. If the driver helps put my bags in the trunk I do tip. Only one time has the driver not helped with the bags.

I always toss them a few bucks. I've read articles that could go either way.

If I have cash on me, I will throw in a few bucks. Most of the time I only have a card though.

If these drivers were smart, they'd be using Square.
