True this. That's why I don't own one. My wife though, will carry an umbrella if it's just cloudy outside. I laugh at her when I run out to the car in the rain, jump in but by the time she's done fumbling with the damned thing trying to get it folded while climbing into the car in the pouring rain, she ends up way more soaked than I am. And she absolutely cannot keep track of the damned things. Seems like she has to buy a new one about every month.

I have 2 in my car. One for normal use and a golf umbrella with my golf bag.
I have rain gear in my golf bag too, but I'm not slapping on that stuff and walking around my place of work. Derrrrr.
