The one in St Francisville is pretty cool. I didn’t take pictures of any of the graves, but the church and surrounding oaks are pretty. Some of the people interred there date back to the early 19 century and their elaborate mausoleums and spires, etc. would imply their lives were pretty significant and/or their family had means far above and beyond their contemporaries.

Hollywood Graveyard is a well done YouTube channel that visits notable graves and gives you interesting info on the people.
Through these I learned that Dr Bellows and Mrs Bellows from I Dream of Jeannie are buried in the same cemetery, as are Alfalfa and Darla from Our Gang
As I posted in the Pics from the Past thread, pinup queen Bettie Page and Allan Melvin (Sam the Butcher on The Brady Bunch, Barney Hefner on All In The Family) are buried next to each other. Together though Eternity.

Surly you can answer this yourself.

Yes. I go to my dads who passed away at 59 in December and cry every time. I know I won’t go 3 days a week forever but I’m going to try to. I never thought about cemeteries until he passed and we found a beautiful cemetery that is well taken care of and I’m happy about where he is resting.

Wilde is not mentioned but they do talk about Eloise and Abelard (or whatever their names were) being buried there

There’s are several cemeteries in Baton Rouge in terrible shape. Open graves, exposed or open caskets, creepy as shite

Really enjoy visiting old cemeteries for some reason.
Was copying old pictures and bumped the wrong thread.

I’ve never seen it - is it worth a watch?

Had to look them up - their grave and story are pretty interesting
I was only in Paris for a day so I never made it to Pere Lachaise

One weird thing though: there is a gravestone there with my name on it (a distant relative I never met). Seeing it is a bit disconcerting, to say the least.
I have experienced this and it is not a good time

We bought a 4’x4’ space that will accommodate 2 urns. Never have to worry about being vacuumed up or dropped.

My grandmother and her sister did that every Sunday afternoon, weather permitting. Sometimes I would go with them. They talked about all the people who were buried there, how we were related to them. stories about them. It was a way of keeping their memory alive.

virtus junxit mors non separabit
My mom’s side of the family is “Ware” as in Ware’s Chapel, Arkansas. I’ve been to the cemetery. What sticks out are the amount of kids who were buried there.
Born 1899. Died 1899
Born 1921. Died 1923.
It’s pretty eye opening.

That’s nice - we have a family grave at St. Patrick in NOLA - so it’ll either sink or be carjacked
