I am facing the decision of dumping $5k into a 6 year old car with 110k miles.
shite sucks.
I'll probably do it because I am not going to find a better replacement vehicle for $5k.
In your shoes I would spend the $400.

I've got a 2000 F-150, supercharged 2V 5.4, less than 75k miles on it and in great condition. My daily drivers have all been economical 4-bangers over the years, easy to fix and maintain. My fiancée has a 2004 5.3L Silverado and she loves her truck and doesn't plan on dumping it for something new.
