They talk with a twang, drive jacked up trucks and love country music

The South IMO
I include Eastern Texas, Southeastern Oklahoma, Southern boot of Missouri and the Southernmost tip of Illinois.

You used to maybe be able to make an argument for it but not now. They got too many transplants from all over the country and from Mexico to be considered Southern. Before too long Texas will be Florida.

Texas pride will be considered hispanic pride before long. It's hard to consider Texas its own state/country anymore with the extreme amounts of Mexicans. They pride themselves on being there own entity and the greatest thing since sliced bread, yet the better half of the state is covered in Spanish writing.

True. Texas in 20 years will have a much different identity than it does today.

Louisiana is incredibly diverse when it comes to accents.
I have no accent, my mom sounds like she is from Brookline, MA.

You have an accent, trust me.

Texas is more like Mexico than the South.

I really don't. Met people from all over and they don't believe I am from NOLA or the South. My mom pronounces park as "pahk" and car as "cah".

Texas and Oklahoma are both southern states in my eyes.

Oklahoma doesn't even enter into the equation for me.

It just sucks because brave Tennesseans fought and died to save their asses from Mexicans in the first place. Now they're giving it right back to them.

The Missouri boot area and Southern tip of Illinois really have Mississippi River delta feel just like Tennessee, Arkansas, Miss and Louisiana. The climate and culture are very similar
