Friend of mine is about 35, owns her own medical professional practice (audiologist, D. Aud.) She's been in Rotary for about 5 years, and as an Army brat, in VFW Auxiliary.

Unless 35 is now "old?" I realize to some on this board that "old" is the worst possible scenario.

Nah, I'm older than that. But I would be the "kid" in my local Rotary. And I'm already the kid in a somewhat sizable local community organization.

I am interested in something that involves active volunteering. I'll look at the rotary more closely and see what else might be around.

I did Rotary for awhile and really did not see that it was worth my time or the $1,000+ a year for dues and meals. Then again, I had already built my resume some time ago and am nearing retirement. If I was a lot younger, I would probably do it. At this point it doesn't serve me any purpose. However, that is just me.
