Do you include the 1% bikers in that assessment?

Yes. Some of the most honest, charitable, and generally good men I've met were 1%ers. Are all good people? Nope. Some 1%ers would cut you just because they like to see people bleed. So not all are good people. But most are.

Here's the thing, just as many misunderstand what it is to be a biker, they likewise misunderstand what being a 1%er means. Basically, without getting too far into the weeds, a 1%er is a biker who has made a commitent to his club that's bonded for life. They reject normal society for their own society with their own laws of right and wrong. They're sort of like anarchists would be the best way I could describe it to someone who's never been around them.

I'm sure there were some pirates that stole from the rich and gave to the poor

Maybe bikers of past generations. 50s, 60s and 70s.

Bikers today are pussies.

Even in SoA they would usu work with gangs or other types of org crime, mostly.

And in the end, SoA were their own worst enemy like a bunch of women.

We're known as outlaws but that doesn't mean we're criminals, not all of us at any rate. There are plenty of Bikers involved in drugs, guns, prostitution, you name it. But you could say the same thing about cops.

Umm...apples and oranges man, apples and oranges.

Pirates are fricking awesome.

Kind of like 17th century Vikings.

The victorious pirates subjected their captives to an orgy of horror that lasted several days, raping and killing their terrified prisoners deck by deck. The pirates reportedly utilized torture to extract information from their prisoners, who had hidden the treasure in the ship's holds. Some of the Muslim women apparently committed suicide to avoid violation, while those women who did not kill themselves or die from the pirates' brutality were taken aboard the Fancy.

An uncle of mine, who was a biker through the 70s said all of those are synonymous

Do motorcycle clubs have chase vans? I'm not good at riding bikes, but I'd be willing to do my part for the club by driving behind the caravan in my minivan. I can haul necessities for the club such as band aids, water bottles, granola bars, etc.

Yeah what the article doesn't mention is that afterwards the bikers killed the children. :/

I can't speak to the over dramatization of 18th century piracy. But I can tell you with 100% certainty what you've seen on Sons of Anarchy is NOTHING like being a member of a three price patch motorcycle club.

Exactly.

People have a misunderstanding of what bikers actually are. They're just LARPers that want to have some fun and sometimes take it too far with their little clubs.

I just downvote you. The rest at least came up with funny quips. You just keep repeating the same "Larper" thing that grew stale a long time ago. It's time to come up with some new way to try and insult me.

NO, not the downvote!

It's not a funny quip. It's not an insult. What you do IS LARPing.

You have a day job. When you get done with your day job, you put on your costume and get on your bike and go meet your friends who also like to wear costumes and ride bikes. You put on costumes that look "tough" because you like to play pretend. That's what LARPing is. I'm sorry you're insulted by a description of what you do.
