I think it's because they are already darker than an ordinary Caucasian that a Nebraska farm boy would use as a reference. Not denying that they (Thais) can and do tan.

Of course. Why do you think they walk around in the sunlight with umbrellas? Because the darker you are the poorer you are.

The Asian poors work in the fields and get dark. The light elite stay indoors and out of the sun.

Yeah but the darker you are the less likely you will sunburn. I think that most black people have either never had a sunburn or maybe had one. That's why we rarely get skin cancer. When we do it's usually on feet and palms.
