am curious why the chapter alumni board, who facilitates and oversees some of the things mentioned and many that aren’t, feel no heat and take no responsibility.

They at minimum were turning a blind eye if not actively promoted hazing to an extent.

Edit: not saying they were telling actives to piss on pledges but they have had plenty of chances to cut hazing out and never have

Frat boys don’t fare well in general population unless they become open minded about engaging in same sex relationships.

Looks like Gaston Eymard is a Jesuit grad. I feel bad for him. He was expressing his repressed homosexual feelings through violence.

I always hate to see young people ruin their lives...they will never recover from this.

The one that pissed on someone or the one that has the face that looks like it needs a fist?

No alumni board over sees hazing like this. If anyone would have known this was going on I don’t see how it would have continued.

I have no personal knowledge of DKE's alumni involvement, if they have any at all. But in general, advising/supervising is a thankless job with no upside. The actives dont appreciate it and it's not exactly a resume' builder. Most alums have better things to do, like family and career.

You could put a stop to nearly all this stuff if each chapter had a dozen or so alums willing to mentor and just hang around, so that a responsible adult was there or likely to drop in at any time day or night. But realistically, ain't nobody got time for that.

Back then, like we did, our pledges took it like men, got over it and made themselves stronger...

Or got strong ehough to fight fire, with fire, literally!
We had an active that wouldn't sign one pledge's paddle. We kidnapped him on the day of a home football game, stole a keg that was for the after party, and didn't show up for the party. We took him out to a pledge's dad's camp, tried to get him drunk. When that didn't work, we tied him to a tree, poured gas on the ground around him, and the tree, lit it, and didn't cut him loose until he had signed it.

Not even going to say what they did to us for doing it, but everyone had every active's signature.

They have been busted several times in the past 15 years. If they wanted to change culture they would have.

I think everyone has been busted over the past 15 years. In general, all alumni turn a blind eye to hazing but not at the level these guys were at.

So you’re in the 2017 pledge class?
Good chance I know you. I was out of school but still came back to the house for rush/games/and of course all of the fun that never ends.
Also I likely asked for a joe and took the whole pack at some point

Those look like a bunch of down on their luck pipeliners instead of fratstars. Except bottom left who looks mentally challenged.

That's funny. I coached that kid in baseball years ago. He wasn't a bad kid then, but pretty immature.
