I called to renew my license today. The Louisiana DMV informed me that due to a flag on my license, they could not renew it and wouldn't give me a reason why.

After going into the online system, I saw that they had an insurance issue as the reason for the flag.

After calling my insurance company, I was made aware that I do not have nor have I ever had any insurance issues on that date the dmv identified.

I called the DMV and explained the situation. Shanique informed me that I would need to dispute it (which would probably take a while) or just pay a fee.

All part of being from a broke arse state , I guess.
What says the OT?

This. I would find out what info they needed from my insurance company and get it together. If all you need to do is pay a fee to clear it up, there can't really be an issue with your insurance.

When did they start letting you renew your license by calling in?

Also, sounds like you didn't turn a plate in when you moved out of state so when your insurance ended, it looked like it ended on a currently registered vehicle.
