Problem is Mom and Dad are the ones footing the bill for most of these kids. I doubt many of them have a choice in the matter if they actually want someone else to pay for the trip.

Of course college was much cheaper before the boomers wrecked shite, so having a crummy low wage job might mean you could pay for shite without student loans as well.

It is sad in our day we paid the bill.
Yes, we all had crappy part time jobs while in high school saving up to have fun.

Back in the day the goal was to cut the strings from mommy and daddy to grow up.

My first apartment was a partying pad in a complex that was mostly young adults. Hint we were 18yrs old and adults. My place was next to the pool, a lot of single chicks lived around us, and no parents.

We all paid for our trip with mailbox money from graduation cards
