I never waited tables, worked at CAMD for 5 yrs, but I lived behind the Chimes (now parking my lot) and was there so much I felt like I did. Married a Chimes waitress...so yea, my LSU story is complete.

Hell yes. Go where there is job stability. If you don't want to leave your family then try Houston or Dallas. It's just close enough where you can visit any time. As for friends, you'll make new ones wherever you move, so don't worry about losing those. And with the Facebook world, you'll keep in touch with your old ones. Get out of LA as fast as you can though if you want a good life and to make something out of yourself.

I might be leaving LA for a job soon. I've grown up here. I've never lived anywhere else. I don't hate it here dispite all of it's problems, but I'd like to venture out. Colorado seems awespme.

you will be miserable in Dallas unless your existence revolves around money and keeping up with the Jones'.
this is not a stereotype, this is the reality of Dallas

Yep. Moved to DFW. No decent paying IT jobs in Louisiana. Still don't have any.. with a very rare exception.

Best recommendation I can offer is get out after graduating to see how other governments work for the communities they work for. We moved to south Orange County , CA after graduating LSU and it was eye opening to live their over a decade to see how development , roads and cities are so well integrated for the people. Orange County has so much to offer from jobs , beaches, fishing snow skiing , low crime , clean but it's not home so we came back. No regrets but the experience was eye opening to see how other parts function. This part of southern cal is the highest republican per capita in the us which may explain part of my likes to the area. Leave , get the experience and then decide what ya really want. A few years with air travel is no biggie.

Pretty sure per capita there are more republicans in other areas.... unless you mean per land density?
