Sure, no problem!

1. 1776 by David McCullough. Great overview of the entire year leading up to Trenton and how bad it got for the Americans. Not overly long and an easy read.

2. Washington's Crossing by David Fischer. Bigger book that focuses primarily on Trenton, really well written and interesting. Won a Pulitzer.

3. First Conspiracy by Brad Meltzer. Interesting little book about the British plot to get Washington in NYC. Written in a weird way, very short chapters and written more like a crime novel, but a fun and quick read.

If you want to a great book about the lead up to the war, may I recommend "An Empire on the Edge" by Nick Bunker. It focuses on the Gaspee Affair which came before the Boston Tea Party and was actually a much more violent act and flaunting of British rule. The people of Rhode Island will tell you that this was a more important event than the Tea Party, but because a lot of historians came from Massachusetts in the early years, they downplayed the Gaspee and over inflated the Tea Party.
