So, I got warnings on two weather apps in Houston about weather that is going to hit both of us (it will always be worse in DFW), eight hours ago, but because you're watching the world series, you're in a blackout all day?

Well, OK. I don't understand why one would be so blasé about weather in a place where houses advertise in ground tornado shelters, but you do you.

Just a good steady rain in East Dallas, not even much wind or lighting and thunder like 3am.this morning

I got your stream up and my Midland NOAA radio in my lap.

It's probably weird but the droning NOAA voice really relaxes me.

We didn't get much wind either just heavy rain and it seems like the worst has moved through.

Marked safe from any 'naders

I’m hoping for a full nights sleep after all the nonsense between 2:00-4:00 am this morning.

I completely slept through last night. Had no idea anything rolled through until someone mentioned it at work today. (My NOAA radio alerts were turned off.)

It's steady rain with a little bit of lightning but nothing terrible here in central Plano. Hardly any noteworthy wind. I felt comfortable enough to run outside for a moment and see how my new drainage equipment was performing a few minutes ago. YMMV but I'm a little disappointed

You live in an area prone to extreme weather, and not the slow developing type like hurricanes are. Do you think this luddite stance is a benefit for your family, or a detriment?

I am not trying to be a dick, but you guys are prone to 70mph gusts during regular storms, and hail, holy hell. Of holy hail?

Living on the Gulf of American for so long, paying close attention to weather is a necessity, I assume everyone is watching fronts develop days in advance, etc. Of course, my ex wife's friends have no idea we're getting inches of rain tomorrow night during trick or treating.

Glad you didn’t get the worst of it. Our French drain on the side of our house couldn’t keep up last night.

Who is paying these storms to work during the shutdown?

You ever get any of the winds and heavy rain?

I don’t know but they weren’t paying Ft Worth NWS last night. Bad timing for them to go dark.

I always go to Accuweather and watch the radar. We’re getting it now in Houston, power has been out for 15 minutes and will probably be for hours.
