I won't be using this dentist or lab again, but this was already paid for with this dentist and lab. So, I'm kind of on the hook with letting this dentist fix it. I was just looking for an opinion of whether this is normal or looks to be poor work, and should I request him to completely redo it. I can get another second opinion, but that will be more money out of pocket and there doesn't seem to be any decent dentists in my area.

I’m no dentist but have had enough good work done to repair bad work done. That’s going to become an issue. Any crown/veneer done should extend down into the gum line. Otherwise you run the risk of food getting stuck, sugars attacking the base tooth, etc. It’s an ideal place for decay.
You’re going to lose those teeth in a couple years if you don’t get it fixed.

Yeah, wasn't trying to sound snarky. They look like that from the inside b/c you can't see that side. The side facing outwards has deep grooves cut b/t the teeth to make them look natural. Inside is left smooth for ease of cleaning and to leave more material making them stronger.

He did mention that he leaves the margin out of the gum line so it can be kept clean. The previous crown had the same margin location, although it was not sharp and jagged. That crown was done by a very good dentist over 20 years ago but had to be removed for the bridge since the other tooth broke.
