Delaware State Trooper Shot & Killed: Police Close In On Suspect

The shooting unfolded at a store near Salem and the trooper, who was not identified, was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, ABC 6 reports.
It was not immediately clear why the officer was shot.
Local police have located the suspect at his home in Middletown and he has refused to follow orders to surrender. The suspect is believed to have a family, but he is in the house alone.
The suspect has continued to fire rounds at police officers. State police has brought in hostage negotiators and it is uncertain as to whether they have made communication yet.
