I didn't think to look at SDP on that bowing segment earlier today, but I found a screen shot a guy posted on Twitter. You can see where the RIJ is wrapping around and really concentrating the rain in the comma head.
You can also really see near the inflow notch how the winds are pulling the rain in from the backside of that storm really decreasing the precipitation behind that bowing segment. I haven't tried to find rainfall totals in the Fenton area, but I'm betting they saw some significant rates while under that.
Lightning during this time really took off, too. The meso never really got going, and the rotation there stayed fairly broad, but everything was in place for it to last a while if a tornado had formed.
