Dipping is trashy

Dipping is not a habit. It is a full blown addiction.
I treat it as such and therefore keep up with the days I had my last.
Today is 1800. I quit cold turkey on Jan 5, 2015.
I don't much think about it anymore but just talking about it here is making my mouth water.
Quitting is a very difficult thing to do. I think cold turkey is the best. I tried "cutting back" but that just prolongs withdrawals. Same for the gum--eventually you'll have to "wean" off of those. Again, prolonged withdrawals.
Rip off the band-aid. It sucks but it's worth it.
I probably dipped for 10 plus years, about a can per day.
Edit, for anyone else who eventually decides they've had enough, this is where I landed and it helped me:
Kill The Can

I quit the day my son was born. The last pinch in the can about an hour before delivery. It was almost poetic. The hectic business of a new baby helped; I didn't have a lot of time to think about it and my routines were busted anyway. I don't know if it would have gone so well otherwise. Godspeed!

Good for you and good luck! I regret the day I tried it and when all my friends were puking I liked the taste and had a way to get it. Haven’t stopped but for boot camp 2 months and ran around DC looking for a can.

Holy shite, that's a hell of a smoking habit. 3 packs a day? How did you find the time in the day to smoke that much?

Good for you!
I've been trying to quit but cold turkey hasn't worked so well. I've gotten my habit down to working hours Monday-Thursday but I'm hoping I can quit completely soon.
