My hypothetical are garbage, but yours is a fact? There is no certainty that Russia would have beaten Germany without US troops actively participating in the western theater on the ground.

Obviously I struck a nerve with the WW2 pontificators on the OT…the same ones who probably pray for more war to feed the MIC and bleed our country dry.
You are obviously anti US and pro Russian.

Wow…you’re right, served this country for 30 years but I’m anti USA and pro-Russian because I question why we committed troops to the war in Europe
The mental gymnastics one has to do to champion US govt policies ad hoc and without question re: past and current military action…
Why didn’t we commit ground troops to fight Japan first - the same country that actually attacked us - but instead went to a Germany first policy and wasted so much blood and treasure chasing the Nazi war machine.
I’ll bow out of this conversation as the point I was trying to make has been answered by non-answers.

American troops fought the Japanese first in defensive battles in the Pacific theater in estly 1942. . They took the offensive at Guadalcanal in August.
In November of 42 the Americans took on the Germans in N Africa.
Our ground troops did fight Japan first.
Meanwhile the US agreed to help Stalin directly with an invasion of the European continent. Stalin had demanded thus because no one knew the future.
Bye

yeah I agree. Why we didn't commit more ground troops to a naval theater?

They declared war on us because we were attacking their ships and submarines UNPROVOKED…you still haven’t explained why we sent our boys to bleed and die on Europe’s soil.
How fricking dumb are you?

My Great Grandfather was shot in Europe. He refused to talk about it with anybody. Even my grandmother had no clue where had been.
I spent months requesting military records (most burned in the fire) and finally got his discharge paperwork. From their i found various groups who had copies of troop movement reports which allowed me to track his movements.
He had a relatively easy first few months in Europe but was sent to Hurtgen then after that he was sent as reinforcment to the Bulge where he was shot.
Created a book with all kinds of historical documents and gave it to my dad for fathers day.

How much worse would the Holocaust have been had the Germans not had multiple fronts to fight on?
