Hell, there are stereotypes around those viewpoints for a reason.
I don’t know any black or Latino women that treat their daughters like princesses - they mostly treat their sons like that

Tell her when she supports herself 100% financially she can then have total control of her decisions. Otherwise, this is just a 17 y/o bitchy daughter moment.
If she just graduated, chances are her days of living in the house are short lived.
It seems like a bold strategy to start the "my house my rules" talk when they are gone (potentially) in 90 days.
Maybe it's just me, but wouldn't a better strategy be to let her run her life (with feedback from parents) in preparation for getting out either to college or the workforce?

You know only mothers who are raising their sons to be daughters.

I think she’s talking about that junk vendors on the floor give you at conferences. That’s the only time I’ve heard that word.

Great, my 17 year old daughter told me she hates me.
Not a requirement to be a good parent. In fact, it’s normal for kids to hate parents who do the right thing.

Like a swag bag at a wedding or something?
Only time I’ve ever heard of it used beyond people saying things like “gotta get that swag”.

it all comes down to the temperament of the kid. I have two boys that messed up a LOT but still want/need parental approval and ultimately are on their way to being good people. Third is a 15 year old girl, and so far, fighting and testing limits just doesn't seem to be in her nature.
I know better than to judge those with difficult kids. I'd love to get up on my throne and tell you all how to parent, but I'd be full of it. I just got lucky so far.
Hearing the I HATE YOU bomb would cut hard. You just gotta know she doesn't mean it. She is trying to hurt you because she's immature, frustrated, and angry. Hopefully that takes the sting out a bit.
