Interesting - I was always under the impression that he took the money from a guaranteed contract and then walked. I guess Comedy Central would have sued the shite out of him if that was the case.

That show was the GOAT. It's probably better that he didn't stick around long enough to jump the shark.

I will forever be convinced that Dave primarily left his show because he suddenly lost his passion for it and comedy in general, like an ordinary person that can't take another day of their monotonous job and they tell their bosses to go frick themselves on the way out the door. I think he ultimately couldn't handle fame. He got so popular it was like he couldn't go anywhere in public without getting shouted at "I'm rick james bitch" 100 times.
His reclusiveness shows this more than anything
Anyone that has seen Chappelle live in the last few years might agree. I saw him once, and I just got this vibe of "I don't want to do this at all, but my name sells tickets and I have bills to pay."
