I was setup by a mutual friend with a widow (her husband had passed at 28 in an accident about 3 years earlier).

The OT can feel free to judge me, but in the end, I called it quits because whenever we rode together in her car (which she always insisted we do with me driving) - she would just play Eric Clapton’s “Tears in Heaven” on repeat.

I must have heard the song at least 60 times in a row on the way from New Orleans to Destin.

Subconsciously I was always comparing dates to my former wife. It's unavoidable.

I met a man probably in his 80s last night (lovely man, insisted on buying me a glass of wine ) who told me his wife passed away 20 years ago. He said he's been married to his now wife for 9 years, and she's okay but his first wife was amazing. I was surprised at his honesty.
