First born was 2 lb. 12 oz. and 11 weeks premature. Held him curled up in one hand like a little football.

That was 17 years ago, and now he's a Governor Scholar, runs track, and other than being a little undersized now, one would never know how he struggled just to get into the world.

Absolutely. My wife is 25 weeks pregnant today with our first one. When I read this story and saw the mother was only 24 weeks when she passed, it shook me up a little bit.
