I have a theory as more and more "autonomous" technology is integrated into any given vehicle, it causes said owners/operators of the vehicle to be less attentive and develop bad habits.
Their reasoning is that in their minds, they no longer have to practice those safer driving habits because the "car will do it for them."
A lot of the new autonomous tech in the cars now such as back up sensors, highway lane departure warnings, auto braking, cameras, etc is making drivers worse.
Just about every person I know who has a back up camera in their vehicle doesn't even bother to look around any longer before they back up. They just focus on that little screen and throw it in reverse.
It's existence has them so confident that everything is clear, that they fail to look to their left and right to make sure it is safe to back out. Same principle applies to all of the other "safe" technology.
Tell a driver the car can drive itself, they will be less likely to pay attention to anything on the road and let their mind wander. Instead they will spend that time day dreaming or playing with all the new gadgets in their smart car. Meanwhile, their driving skill set degrades as a result.
While a lot of this technology is cool, 90 percent of the people it appeals to, are exactly the type of people who shouldn't be using it because it only encourages them to make their bad habits worse IMO.

They are very popular with H1B workers and other immigrants from Asia. These people can't drive worth a shite. My neighborhood is infested with them due to some tech centers, and it makes driving around here a frightening chore. Many of them have stickers and warning signs on the car saying "student driver please be patient" or they have personalized license plates saying "Vikram33" warning other drivers to keep their distance.
And when I say they can't drive, I mean they literally have to learn how to drive for the first time because they came from some overcrowded shithole like Bangalore where they never had a car and now they have to drive by necessity to get around the American suburbs.
India is a country of 1.8 million people that has won like 3 Olympic medals. What does that tell you about their reflexes and hand eye coordination?

It's probably that the majority of them are sold in cities and other congested areas, so they are around more traffic and the numbers are skewed.
Get out of here with your rationale thinking and sound logic

People driving those cars don't carry insurance therefore do not report an accident

The average Tesla driver is this type of person:
Does that answer your question?

Corvette drivers are the absolute worst

Well, they're recalling 2M cars for autopilot software safety issues, so that's likely the main problem.

Yeah, I can see that by the report.
Oh, wait...
And let's be honest, how fast can you go in the Waffle House parking lot?

Nissan Altimas cause the most accidents. I refuse to believe otherwise. Ratty arse Nissan Altimas barrelling through traffic on the interstates in Atlanta is a full blown epidemic.

They probably aren't on the list b/c they aren't in any insurance database.

Excellent points, and spot-on.
It's less about the car, and more about bad driving habits.
Teslas, b/c of their tech, lend themselves more to this issue.
Good car, shitty drivers.
