answers are overrated anyway. You can do everything correct and make a small mental error or rounding error and get the incorrect answer. No need to be careless, but correct methodology should definitely be awarded just as much as the final answer.

it's a far superior way to learn math than what we all used growing up. low iq parents just get angry because they legitimately can't grasp the concepts

Sounds like your daughter doesn't understand math. you taught her how to work that type of problem with a short cut or trick. good for her she can do it but still doesnt truly understand it.
The engineers, scientists and mathematicians who have developed the world's great technologies, laws of science and buildings all learned traditional math.
Why is the U.S. being kicked around? Because this generation expects things to happen right away and won't put in the time to study. There is no genetic predisposition to learning that Indians and Japanese have over Americans. They push their kids hard to learn. The vast majority here don't. It's as simple as that.
