See but that is understandable to be annoyed by that.
That isn't the typical cyclist bashing you see on here though. People will bitch on here because ONE cyclist is riding in the road, riding as far right as they possibly can.

I do this all the time, especially for pedestrians when riding through the park. Most of the time they can't hear me because the iPod is cranked up to full volume so when I pass them they still jump. I am more careful when passing someone walking a dog, though. Not a good idea to startle the dog when you don't know how good of a grip the owner has on the leash.
