Just put in an offer for a house in Austin, our 5th one, and wondering what your experiences have been as of late. This was our first offer since early Feb. and know a lot of things have changed since then.

House is older but on a great piece of property.

That’s like 4 weeks ago. Aside from interest rates going up, what else could have changed in a month?

If this doesn't work, look south In Buda and that area.

I’d look in New Braunfels if I’m going south of Austin. Not too far from San Antonio and close to canyon lake, Guadalupe and Comal rivers.

$5 a gallon gas, stock market volatility?

Wondering if people are choosing to park more money in housing or if they're redirecting funds in the short term.

We really don't want to get out of the city, still young (28-30) and want to be closer to shops/restaurants/bars.

I do have a buddy with a place on Canyon Lake but they are thinking of selling because the water level keeps dropping.

People need a place to live whether gas is 1.00 or 8.00 a gallon. Stock market goes up and down daily. Sure, the recent volatility is a concern, but again, real estate has always been bought/sold regardless if bear or bull market.

Water levels tend to fluctuate

It got to the point last summer they were worried the boat was going to get stuck on the lift levels were so low. Not much fun staring at a mud hole

People did the same in Lakeway in the 2011 drought and sold homes for 200k that are now easily pushing 700k, if not over a million in some cases.

I haven't seen anything on the water on Lake Travis for under $2 million the last few years.
