Say what? Baltimore is on the water. It's obvious you haven't been up towards Cumberland and out 68 towards Garrett County.

Depends on how far down you want to go. New Orleans alone could be broken into many subcultures.
Louisiana is def more than just North and South, though.
I'd say the basic breakdown is:
1)North Louisiana
2)CENLA
3)Acadiana
4)West Florida
5)Baton Rouge region
6)New Orleans region
7)Southeastern Coastal Communities
There will be overlap and each one of those could be broken down further.
Technically, East Baton Rouge and environs east of MS River would be West Florida, but I think BR has earned its own distinct stripes by 2019 (this coming from a nola metro rat).
Like someone else said, Franklinton is a big difference from Madsonville, so you can break each of these down further. Hell, Slidell is a huge difference from Abita.

I was going to the eastern shore before you were born, skippy. Mainland Maryland as you call it, is a pretty redneck area. Unless you think that Bethesda/Chevy Chase is mainland Maryland.

St.Louis,Kansas City/ Rest of Missouri
Neither one of those cities have anything in common with rest of Missouri

Northern New Jersey and Southern New Jersey.
yes...huge difference. South Jersey should just be annexed as a suburb of Philly.

Texas has five pretty distinct cultural regions.
