Because no one at your gym got hurt it is safe to do a compound lift completely fatigued when form and technique are paramount?

Do you think form is important on the deadlift?

Crossfit is a sham. I have talked to people who did it and are still doing it. You get mixed reviews...but do you get mixed reviews on running miles; lifting weights 3 x a week with cardio? No. Crossfit is borderline unhealthy. Just because people get fit does not mean it's healthy. I know a 28 year old girl who did it so much that she became an owner of a Crossfit gym in Texas. She became so obsessed with it that she basically defriended any FB friend who questioned her methods. I defriended her because I was tired of 5-7 posts/blogs today about what she was an "elite athlete." NO one cares but you. Her diets were poor -- so poor that I even wondered if she was getting anything from her food aside from proteins...no carbs, no fats, no sugars. The diet (some special name I forget) has proven failure in the past -- to the point of death. They do not know what relaxation days mean. It's all just another day to do more crosfit.

It's a sham because you knew a girl who annoyed you on Facebook once? That makes a ton of sense.

Crossfit says to hell with that...use it all. Burn yourself. Don't stop.

How do you know if you've never done it?

From someone that does it, you've got the wrong idea

I know no one who was a college athlete who does this and I am sure they're out there, but not in droves.

bullshite. There are ton of ex-athletes that do it.

. NO way in hell would I recommend any crossfit to anyone who wants to run or lift. It's unhealthy and it's a fa

Again, you've never done it.

For those who disagree, come back and talk in 3 years. You cannot do that stuff everyday for the rest of your young lives.

the guys at the top have been doing it for much longer than that. like double that. 6-7 years.

She's very decent-looking...but her personality...meh.

Just another "I run and workout and I am good because I do it" person.

The only thing I can see how you'd get injured doing that is on toes to bars busting your arse. But those weights are not that heavy to injure someone. I don't see that as a brutal routine except learning the movements.

If you get hurting pulling 115 lbs, you don't need to be in a crossfit gym period

It isn't like it's 405 dl 300 snatch or so forth.

Do you not think form is the first thing that is sacrificed when fatigued?

She's the epitome of why I KNOW from health/fitness people that it's unhealthy. She's not the main reason, nor the reason I do not do it. She's falling victim to the lifestyle. She's also already had two surgeries. That really makes me want to do it...cannot be successful unless you injure something. And she's one of many.

Good for you Lester, that you are no longer fat and got into shape. You could just do a normal workout and save yourself back surgeries, trips to the ER due to poor glucose levels, knee replacements, and all that jazz that goes with it.

Again, you've never done it.

And I never will, but I have the picture and have watched those who do it. It is not difficult to imagine and I have done everything but Crossfit -- some bad and some good -- and I can tell you no way in hell I would do this shite.

If there is one thing I don't like and that is kipping pull-ups. I can see that being a recipe for shoulder ache, but gymnasts do that kind of movement a lot so frick it shite

I didn't say that, but you're butt hurt so I'll let you be. I am open and have been open to several types of workouts and have done most of them. Back and forth Arguing over Tigerdroppings was fun in 2004-2005. I'm good now. Do it your way and I'll do it mine, as you say.

how exactly do you lift weights? Do you do 1 rep and put the bar up? You don't ever lift weights when your muscles are tired? Honestly, that's a first if true.

The diet I spoke of for those doing the unhealthy Paleo and the like. Not the workout...the lifestyling and dieting that goes with it.
