This is insane. Olympic hurdle height for men is 42" and I think 33" for women.
But thats almost beside the point, this event was not really a "hurdle" even. It was a vertical (high) jump event. For those events you have different equipment, a bar that "breaks away" when you make contact and at certain heights, a landing pit!
I wonder if the organizers ever played or coached sports on even a high school level.

That competition setup is moronic. They make hurdle setups where it's basically a bar on top of a stand and they're not connected so if you hit it is goes flying off and you're fine.
That's the dumbest setup I've ever seen.

Thank you NOLALGD. Someone else who knows what they're talking about.
Moronic and insanely dangerous to not use a two-piece setup for that event.

It looks ridiculous, not to mention dangerous.

The tall dude at minute mark made it and #15 made him do it again. Messed up.

is that why globo gyms are implementing Crossfit classes so they can keep up with the movement?
seriously, ever year it spikes upward. It's not going anywhere

My Lifetime Fitness completely gutted the weights area half the gym and essentially sliced off half of that, adding all kinds of crossfit equipment. I laughed when they did it, but it's packed almost every weeknight.
