That has nothing to do with the chip because the chip doesn't send your CC number.

The chip function doesn't bother me. It's the fact that at many POS terminals, you can select "credit" and bypass the PIN function on a debit card. PINs should be required for ALL transactions, both debit and credit cards. Signatures need to go bye-bye.

I don't use them. I pay cash. I wait until everything is checked out and the clerk tells me what the total is. Only at that point do I fumble for my wallet and begin looking for money like I am surprised i have to pay. Sometimes if I want to speed things up I will write a check. But I will only begin looking for the checkbook after the cashier tells me my total . I usually have to ask for a pen.

My chip never works. It's horrible
