Did you expect anything different? No one has seen this in 70 years.

The organization and logistics that goes into making this happen is quite impressive.

I think the tradition of the ceremony itself is also pretty cool. We’d never see this here in the US and the coronation tradition dates back to 1066.

Did Dr. Jill Biden get a nice seat? I hadn’t seen her in the crowd after her entrance.

Charles’ robe is made by the same people making my wedding tuxedo.

I didn’t turn it on until they were all in the church.

It’s Derby weekend. I couldn’t be expected to be up before 6:00 am ET.

I wonder if Prince Andrew would have rather been getting a body massage on a private island instead of having to be at church at 9am local time.

I'm not saying it's not an impressive feat of logistics or anything short of an incredible spectacle. It's just a pretentious charade though.

I hope this gospel version goes on for another 20 minutes.

King Charles went pretty progressive with the music, probably the only thing that can really be personalized on a bigger scale in the ceremony. They’re also doing this:

quote:

The service will for the first time include languages from around the U.K., including a prayer in Welsh and a hymn sung in Welsh, Scottish Gaelic and Irish Gaelic.

Well at least there’s an attempt at some dignity and tradition here. We’re in a constant slide where “nice” things like this are becoming fewer and fewer. We’re kind of becoming slobs TBH.

I guess I would have more respect for the ceremony if the crown actually had some significance
