I am completely and utterly against marijuana being illegal. It would bother me
But it is illegal. The nice officer protected and served on his own time. Now that's dedication.
You have to admire that, right?

That's all I was asking.

Is his employer paying him to call in crime while on the job?

I've read this thread and I just want to say... your stance and argument here is mind-numbingly pathetic and dumb

That day yes. But his employer is not paying him to call in crime- do you agree? Do you think there's any circumstance where he's unable to do that because he has other obligations?

So if he seen a murder, he cant call it in since he is not being paid to call in a crime?

And I am completely against it being illegal.
I really started this thread because I didn't know how I felt about it, but I suppose that at the end of the day, I would also give 0 stars because because I think that illegalization is completely idiotic, and I hold disdain for anyone that enforces or advocates for the enforcement of that law, illegal or not.
Sorry that that upsets some folks. Its just how I feel. Thanks for helping me work it out.

What are you trying to shift the discussion towards?

So each cop should be able to enforce and not enforce any law they agree or disagree with?
Posted on 4/12/16 at 4:30 pm to Funky Tide 8
I don't see why you have to make this nice police officer pay the price because you are frustrated that he enforces law you don't like.
That seems silly.
Now, if your congressman was your Uber driver, zero stars all day.

I would also give 0 stars because because I think that illegalization is completely idiotic, and I hold disdain for anyone that enforces or advocates for the enforcement of that law, illegal or not.
Seems like you got it all figured out.

No, I would assume that if you were completely against the persecution of someone smoking a joint that you just wouldn't become a cop. If you choose to be a cop and be a cop in the way he did while doing your non-cop job, and you get a 0 star rating, that's tough shite.

Can you think of a circumstance where reasonable suspicion is raised from something he sees while driving and he's justified to pull someone over while shuttling passengers around?
It's not always in the customers or the business's best interests to have a distracted driver at the wheel (or a cop for that matter). Not to mention if underagers are out partying and need a ride home, they'll be less likely to call uber if they know a cop is driving. That could eat into ubers market share.

I guess you can say that he is a victim of a dumbass law.
