BRPD are allowed use of their vehicles to work extra duty in which they are acting in their official capacity just not on the city's dime. They are also required to respond to any nearby emergencies. They are not allowed to use their units for personal use except a quick stop on the way home or to go to the gym. Officers are also not allowed to drive their units home if they live outside of the designated radius. It is different for other agencies such as West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office who can use their units for personal everyday use.

Exactly why I asked my question earlier.

In east Baton Rouge parish deputies outside the Parish can only use their cars for incidental stops and inside the Parish you can use your car for personal use to and from work. You are free to look it up.

Way to change to baseless insults once you were, once again, proven a dumbass.

You literally quoted a federal law/rule twice and tried to say it’s a state statute.

That’s how clueless you are.

Most people that are issued company vehicles are taxed on personal use of that vehicle. Doesn’t mean it’s “against the law”.

You seriously don't know the difference between a private company and the government.

You are the most confident person with down syndrome I've ever encountered, congrats

Same in most jurisdictions. Officers are allowed to use their dept issued vehicle for details when they are off duty. It’s still ran through the dept but they are officially “off duty” as Mingo likes to say.

Great retort, show the statute, regulation, or memo that allows government property to be used for personal use.

I’m not sure what to believe

I honestly feel sorry for you. You are in your 40s, still a grunt, but you have an inflated concept of your self worth so you come on this site and try to prove how smart you are.

I sincerely hope one day you find a friend.

You keep telling people to learn to read, but you seem to be the only one ignorant enough to believe the federal government regulates state and municipal property.

In other words, you don't have a fricking clue.

You are a dope. City or Parish owned vehicles are not property of the State or Federal Governments. Do you understand now. Actually, go reread those statutes you listed which don't appear to have anything to do with property such as vehicles.
