Yes, I think our knee jerk reaction to COVID was ill advised....it did not happen, by the way, until Trump and company doled out a bunch of cash to relieve Governors from both parties of the pressure of weighing the economic impact against the threat of the virus.

Yes, local Governments of both parties are screwing up their areas with bad governance like allowing the police in those areas to run rough shod over the citizens of that area....by hiring people unqualified to do the hard arse work a cop is asked to do and failing to provide them with the tools they need....like some SERIOUS training and support....to do that much needed and critical work. Yes, local governments hire good cops and bad cops and then the only support either cop can expect is that which they lend one another....I don't blame the good ones for not ratting out the bad ones because when they do their bosses toss them under the bus....instead of doing the right thing and getting rid of the bad apple. There budget should be cut drastically and their level of professionalism and the demand from the public for them to act a professional be much higher than it is. But as long as they are only fricking with people with no power and no voice everything is OK....

By the way the chestnut about it only being in demoratic cities is simply not so....some of the most violent cities in the US are ran by republicans....and the rise in violent crimes NOT including murder is actually not true for 2019 and the first half of 2020 according to the FBI....those numbers are basically flat and even with a slight uptick in the last 6 years still at far lower numbers than they were in the mid=1990s at their peak. Murder rates ARE up by about 26% in ALL areas of the country in 2020....it doesnt matter who is in the mayors office or the governors office. Of course facts are meaningless in Trumplandia....I get it....Trump said it, it has to be so.....

That is, people calling to "defund the police," those who honestly think that they live in a version of America that is on par with or even more racist than the pre-Civil Rights Era Jim Crow South," those who cry that white supremacists and racist police are the biggest threats to their lives when in a nation of 300 million+ there are maybe single digit incidents annually where unarmed black people are killed by police yet a single digit percentage of the population of this country (black males between the ages of 15-34) commit half of U.S. homicides on an annual basis, the overwhelming majority of whom murdered are other black people... Though they do still manage to murder well over 100% more white people each year than white people murder black people.

It was his supporters who rioted and looted for months, attacking police, attacking and even murdering innocent people, burning and looting businesses... all in the name of "peaceful protest" against "racism."

This is Joe Biden's America. This is what you can expect to see more of when he is President. This is the leftist ideology controlling his Democrat party now and these are the folks who got him (s)elected. He owes them favors in the way of their leftist policy they want enacted.
