Here's my experience. Forget "non stick". It always wears off eventually, and I don't want that crap in my food. Tri-ply stainless steel is gonna last. Just don't cook at high heat. Stainless holds heat very well, especially with an aluminum core. Costco has a very nice set for around 170.00. I invested in All Clad because I cook a lot.

Tramontina tri ply gets good reviews.

OXO baw....wait until after christmas. I got the ultimate set last year at dillards for about $125.

Do you have an induction cooktop? If no get a couple of these in different sizes....



Then go to McWare and get a 13" roaster...



Get a basic heavy duty no frills stainless boiling pot for pasta and rice and a 12" and 8" Teflon skillet from Walmart.
