North & South CAROLINA were named after Charles I of England, (Charles = Carolus in Latin)
Charles I was not a good guy so we need to change the name of those two states.
Ditto for Georgia and George II of England.
Maryland, Virginia & West Virginia get theirs' as well for similar origins.

Or maybe it's because I have a functioning brain and see that when these scumsuckers are given in to (See Mizzou) they don't stop. It becomes a feeding frenzy. Being offended by something doesnt mean it needs to go away.
