Yeah, the pay here is really garbage. I worked a shite load of OT to earn the little that I do. My wife has an exellent job here that pays very well so relocating would be tough.
The biggest thing for me is that it seems that once you get a plant job you never leave it. People work happily in there for 25-30 years.
The pay i'm looking at is 90k+ any OT.

I swapped from LEO to owning my own business several years ago. I miss it sometimes, but I have a lot more time with my family and I don't have to work three jobs to make ends meet.

Hate to see law enforcement lose a good person. If a change of venue would help I hear Ferguson, MO has an opening.

I just decided to retire from my 26 year LEO career. It was the most liberating thing I've ver done in my adult life. My last day is 12/31.
Given what it has turned into, I would recommend getting out if you can.

Nah, went to college out of state and anticipated working in the northeast. My dad got sick and I was forced to move back to be closer to family.

EBRSO has a decent pay and a lot of extra duty opportunities. They even have a bonus for having a degree, not that it was a whole lot, but it could pay your cable bill WITH HBO..

How long have you been POST?
If you transfer to Texas their departments start out around the 60's and have step increases. Don't know how your department does it or if you already get paid that but just a tip.

Been POST for 8 years, 4 in the bureau. A move to Texas is an option
