Don't worry about that old grumpy guy or the others with negative unhelpful comments. Keep seeking information from people in the field you are interested in - just like you are doing now. The OT is full of both snarky and helpful people. You have plenty of time to consider your end goal, because your prerequisites are going to be the same during your first year of college regardless of what engineering specialty you choose. Try to see if you can shadow other CE and see what their days are like. Good luck and good job for asking questions.
