You're welcome, hope you have fun out here.
Here's how it was explained to me. The scale goes from 1 to 6. 1 is a float trip that you can do on an inner tube. 6 is Niagara Falls. 6 means you will die. A 5 is a 6 that somebody survived.
In reality it's not that bad. 4's and 5's will get your attention but if you have a good crew, you'll be fine. The key is to have a good guide and for everybody to paddle in unison.
ETA:
I don't know if you'd be interested in this but on Memorial Weekend, there is a small but fun beer festival at Arapahoe Basin. You can ski in the morning and drink in the afternoon. It's called Festival of Brewpubs.
They even have water skiing...
