Headed to Colorado for 10days on Friday. We are staying the first 3 days near Breckenridge and the rest in Steamboat. What are the must play courses in these areas? Any to avoid? Thanks in advance.

Haymaker in Steamboat is great.

Nice course. Links style. I don't think there is a tree any taller than 20 feet on the whole place...and dang few period.
The course that used to be at the Steamboat Hilton (?) was pretty good. I think it was RT Jones Jr. layout...not that his name carries a lot of cachet.
There is anther one up on the mountain on the right as you come in to town on Hwy 40 but I think it is private...BUT my understanding is that it is gettable. Never played it though.
There is also a 9 hole course on the West end of town that was a decent little course. Small undulating greens.
One caveat...the info I just gave you is a few years old....Have fun.

Arrowhead outside of Denver.
Unbelievable scenic shots.
My only hole in one was on #11 there, and it is an elevated green, so I didn't get to see my 147 yd 9 iron shot go in. Lol

Pole Creek on Hwy 40 is nice. Also Golf Granby Ranch- also on 40 on your way to Steamboat.

Went last fall and played at the following courses:
The Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks in Silverthorne
Eagle Vail GOlf Club in Eagle Vail
The River Course at Keystone Resort in Keystone.
Would recommend all 3, the River Course was the most expensive. All 3 within a 30-45 minute drive of Breckenridge.
