Again...still the BR metro area. If you try to go outside of that area with a car registered in BR metro (the parishes you mentioned in the OP)they will not give you a sticker

ahh,gotcha.
Did not know that.
So,all these parishes are considered the BR metro aarea then

It's really a matter or does the parish you're registered in and the parish you are being inspected in require emissions test or not

If they aren't in line with each other, it's likely not gonna happen

I'll be glad once I move back to St. Charles Parish in a few months. No more $18/year inspection sticker.

Don't forget to change the address on your registration to reflect that move before your inspection sticker expires or else you'll have to come back here to get inspected.

Over here they just hook up computer to OBD of your car and done in 5 minutes. The car's computer will tell them if there's anything wrong. I think if the car is older than 96 or something they'll hook up those things but I can't remember the last time I saw one.

Right, it just needs to be from one of the 5 parishes.

no not true. EBR has the extra emissions test in their inspection, so if you are registered there you have to get inspected in parishes with that provision. Other parishes that do not have this provision can get them in other parishes.

the podunk towns in AP and LP are not metro area. It has to do with parishes not "metro area"

Yes. I think the metro area is defined by the % population commuting to the city. Pointe Coupee was added to the Baton Rouge MSA fairly recently.

This is of course independent to whatever draconian rules the government imposes on East Baton Rouge.

If he lives in one of the 5 parishes that require emissions tests then he can get it from any of those 5 parishes. Sucks for me b/c I live on the Livingston/Tangipahoa Parish line. I have a Hammond physical address, but I'm technically in LP so I can't get the 2 year stickers
